12/05/10: Honky Tonk Stardust Cowboy a hit at last!

Thank you country music radio presenters around Australia and Europe for finally making this song a hit! As you may not know, I wasn't always a singer...in a former life as a Product and Marketing executive with WEA Records in the 70's, I released an album by Jonathan Edwards called "Honky Tonk Stardust Cowboy" into Australia, and so began my love affair with that song. Unfortunately Atlantic Records didn't quite know how to market this new age urban cowboy, so the song wasn't a hit for him. Legendary country music icon Lefty Frizzell also recorded the song in the mid 60's, when his career faltered due to change of record company, and so the song wasn't a hit for him either. When I recorded my version amongst other personal favourites for the Wildflowers album, I could not have known that the world would love this song as much as I did. Thank you country radio. Clelia
